"Meeting the Moment"

- Rev. Tom Rosiello, minister emeritus - We are living in deeply unsettling times; for some, these are shocking, even shameful, times – times we never thought we’d see. Especially in the United States, but in other places as well, we see democracy in peril, hate running rampant, and diversity demonized. It is no wonder so many of us are asking, “What - if anything - can I do?” The pace can feel relentless—overwhelming, even. Yet our faith tradition offers guidance for moments like this. Rev. Rosiello will share his reflections on how we can respond to real-world challenges while also caring for ourselves and our neighbors.

"Blessing of the Animals"

Shana Dumont Garr - We welcome neighbors and friends to bring their animal companions, in body or in spirit, for a collective blessing. We will assemble in a shady spot to celebrate and honor the dignity of every being with whom we live, complemented by spiritual and philosophical readings by St. Francis, David Abram, and Donna Haraway. There will be no online service this week.

"It’s Time to Slay Goliath: But Do You See What I See?"

The Racial Justice Task Force has invited Dr. Pepple from The Reframe Institute in Worcester to be our guest speaker. Drawing from 1 Samuel 17 and Isaiah 58, this sermon explores what it means to truly recognize injustice in our communities and within ourselves. While many saw Goliath as an unbeatable giant, David saw something different—an injustice that could no longer be ignored. Together we will reflect on the “giants” of our time: hunger, division, inequality, silence, and systems that harm vulnerable communities. This message challenges us to ask an important question: Have we become so accustomed to injustice that we no longer recognize it when we see it? Through reflection, humility, music, and faith, this sermon invites us to examine our own hearts, stand alongside one another, and courageously confront the giants of our generation. This service will also feature musical selections including "Stand by Me," "Man in the Mirror," and "You Raise Me Up."
