The UUCAV Choir presents its annual Solstice Celebration, a multi-faith service of music and reflection during the longest nights of the year. The program spans centuries and traditions, exploring memory, hope, belonging, and the connections that reach across time. Music Director Chris Hossfeld conducts the choir, accompanied by pianist Trevor Berens and joined by guest soprano Jessica Tunick-Berens.
The program includes Dolly Parton’s “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” in Craig Hella Johnson’s choral arrangement; “Hawaiʻi Aloha,” a beloved Hawaiian song of unity and love of home; “Haleluya” by Renaissance Jewish composer Salamone Rossi; and Hossfeld’s own composition, “Echoes of Time.”
Through music, poetry, and reflection, we’ll gather at the turning of the year to honor what has come before, listen for the echoes that remain with us, and look toward the returning light.
The service begins at 5 pm on Sunday, December 13, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in the Assabet Valley, 353 Great Road, Stow, MA. All are welcome and admission is free.
